    Aim of this project is to find the optimum angle of attack for an airfoil at different Mach numbers. It also involves automation of the whole CFD process, which includes creating geometry and mesh (ANSYS ICEM CFD), simulating 2D compressible flow (ANSYS FLUENT) and generating CFD report. Variation of lift and drag co-efficient with angle of attack will be studied to find the optimum angle of attack.

    The liquid flow field in a stirred tank reactor with catalyst particles is to be investigated by means of CFD. The aim is to validate the CFD approach to simulate a liquid-solid flow in mixing tanks. Once the CFD method is fine tuned to get good agreement with experimental results, the same will be used to predict the solid particle distribution by varying rotational speed and solid concentration.

    This study aims at investigating the effect of baffle design, on the liquid sloshing inside a tank of a gasoline carrying tanker truck in motion. The time variation of mean max. pressure and the free surface elevation in relation to the baffle design will be studied using CFD. To track the free surface of the two phase flow in the partially filled tank, the Volume of Fluid method will be utilized.

An optimum baffle inclination angle offers minimal pressure drop with maximum heat transfer. In this project, for a fixed baffle spacing and cut percentage, the heat exchanger performance is to be studied at various baffle inclination angles.
