LearnCAx Mentor Program : How it Works ?

LearnCAx mentor program connects Students, Mentors, and Industrial/University Projects together. Through this unique program, we give an opportunity for students to work on challenging projects offered by industry or assigned by your university. LearnCAx offers many learning options to acquire necessary knowledge to execute the project. LearnCAx also have a pool of mentors who has expertise in wide range of industrial sectors.

LearnCAx mentor program has two variants based on the project selected by student:

  1. When students have their own project idea or project idea assigned by their guide
  2. When student select one of the industrial project offered by LearnCAx

Student Selects Industrial Project offered by LearnCAx

Through LearnCAx-Industry collaboration, LearnCAx receives range of project from industries. After rounds of discussion between LearnCAx team and team from company, various project ideas are extracted. Through LearnCAx mentor program, these projects ideas are then offered to students as their academic project. The main idea behind LearnCAx-Industry collaboration is to offer challenging projects to students and give them exposure to solve industrial problem. Through such kind of projects, industries get a solution to their problems as well as a trained engineer who might be their future employee.

Following is the way LearnCAx mentor program works for any industrial projects:

STEP 1: Industry approaches LearnCAx for their project work

LearnCAx has a brand name in CAx education. Many industries are aware of the training provided by LearnCAx and skill sets of students doing course at LearnCAx. Every industry has various problems which could be solved with help of CFD simulations. Industry approaches LearnCAx to offer those projects to students.

STEP 2: Formulation of CFD project

Sometimes the problems are large or very complex for student’s academic project. Sometimes the problems are not formulated as CFD problem. Through rounds of discussion between LearnCAx and industry team, those problems are converted into CFD project. Each project is then evaluated for its difficulty level, required knowledge and software skill sets required for student to work on those projects.

STEP 3: Offering of CFD projects to students

These projects are then offered to students through LearnCAx mentor program. Every project contains details like who can opt for the project, what is the complexity of project and what are the deliverable expected by student.

STEP 4: Selection of project by student

Based on area of student’s interest, student selects a particular project. During project selection, student can talk to LearnCAx mentor team to identify if the selected project will satisfy all student's needs or not.

STEP 5: Project enrollment and assignment of LearnCAx mentor

Once the project is selected, student they enroll for the project by paying necessary project mentoring fees. The project fee is mainly for associated learning and fee for LearnCAx mentor. Dedicated LearnCAx mentor is assigned to the student who guides the student during his learning and project execution stage. LearnCAx mentor does necessary evaluation at all appropriate stages of project execution.

STEP 6: Project Review by Company

Once the project is completed, student submits the project report to company who offered the project. A panel of LearnCAx and company team does the review of work done by student. Required modifications, suggestions, or acceptance is then communicated to student. A project is then closed with final presentation by student to a review panel.

STEP 7: Project acceptance and certification

After final presentation and successful completion of the project, review panel does grading of the project work. Company issues a project completion certificate with appropriate grading to student.

Student Works on Their Own Project Idea

Many times, students have their own project ideas or projects assigned by their institute guide. In this case, LearnCAx offers a dedicated mentor and all learning options to execute the project.

Following is the way LearnCAx mentor platform works for such projects:

STEP 1: Student approaches LearnCAx for project mentoring program

Student approaches LearnCAx with details about the project they want to work on. The project might be general ideas they want to work on, or they might be final CFD problem definitions. Students share the details about project and the timeline available for them to finish the project.

STEP 2: Project evaluation by LearnCAx mentor

Based on the details provided by student, LearnCAx mentor team assigns a mentor for project. During this stage, mentor evaluates the project for its complexity, required learning for student to execute the project. Mentor also evaluates available timeline and suggests required simplifications/approach to student. Mentor sends a proposal to student with all the details including required learning, timeline possibility and associated fess of training courses and project mentoring.

STEP 3: Acceptance of proposal by student, assignment of mentor and guidance

With rounds of discussion with mentor, student and mentor finalize the project definition. This is then accepted by both mentor and student. Student enrolls for the project by paying necessary project mentoring fees. The project fee is mainly for associated learning and fee for LearnCAx mentor. Dedicated LearnCAx mentor is assigned to the student who guides the student during his learning and project execution stage. LearnCAx mentor does necessary evaluation at all appropriate stages of project execution.

STEP 4: Project Review by LearnCAx mentor team
